Goodsh*t: Storm King

Yea yea yea, so I have been slacking, I still haven't updated Berlin or Croatia but so what, its old news now but you can check them all out here. I had the pleasure of taking a little day trip to Storm King earlier this month which is an open air museum or a "sculpture landscape" founded in 1960 by Ralph E. Ogden. Located about an hour north of Manhattan in New Windsor, NY on 500 acres, it houses the works of Alexander Calder, Richard Serra, Lichtenstein, Claus Oldenburg, just to name a few!

In my opinion, its one of the most incredible modern art situations you can put yourself in!
(These photos don't even do it justice, just go, thank me later and its open until mid-November!)

Goodsh*t: So What If it's In Copenhagen...

It's for charity, you heartless wank! Every year for the past 4 years, a very talented chef I know has put on the Foodball Tournament not only to raise money for the hungry, but to also unite the restaurant community in Denmark and football lovers everywhere (soccer for us Americans)! Go here and donate in support of Action Against Hunger, you could win dinner for two at the BEST restaurant in the world (dudes, you can't even get a reservation to most of the these places!) and various other top restaurants in Denmark. You know you want to book a flight to Copenhagen, so just donate a ton of money to increase your chances! (You could even write it off on your taxes, just sayin').

Goodsh*t: Pork-on-Pork

An Open Letter to a Certain Brooklyn Grocery,

Because you decided to cook the ground beef in the meat section with your florescent lights (or worse I fear) ground pork was the only answer.

Love,
BEHOLD! The Pork Circle of Trust!
(Avocado, jalapeno, white cheddar, tomato, watercress tossed in vinegarette, onion, bacon homemade mayo, mustard all on a brioche bun and I HELPED!)

Don't forget the woman who brought you into the world (and dammit can take you right back out if you don't watch your mouth!)! Call your mom, it's Mom's Day!

PS I also wanna give some love to those moms and grandmas and great grandmas who are watching over us too!

PPS That's my moms!

Goodsh*t: I Don't Drink Gin, But YOU Should!

I like seeing solid ideas. I like seeing solid ideas coming from smart, unpretentious people who care about their craft and hone it. Hello people, meet Brooklyn Gin, Brooklyn Gin meet the people, they look thirsty. I ran into Joe Santos (creator of that sweet stuff up there) whilst enjoying some libations at one of my favorite locals. While I don't drink gin (blame Samantha Bakke's debutante ball circa 1997) I was happy to list a few places for him to whore it out in Brooklyn! I am happy to announce things are going swimmingly and his labor of love has just been placed in several of Keith McNally's restaurants! HELL YEA! So if you're in Brooklyn or Manhattan keep your eyes peeled for this beautiful bottle of distinctively good times!

PS While I am not a gin drinker, I have heard NOTHING but good things, some might say comparable to Hendricks, just sayin'!

Goodsh*t: I Thought My Skillz Were Gone...

SXSW Infographic
But they are not. I can still design. And now this is on WIRED.COM for a little SXSW action! Thanks Natalie, Richie and Pixable for the shout-out and opportunity to re-hone my skillz!

Goodsh*t: Pedro Friedeberg

One of my best friend's boyfriend's dad's art. DAMN. Hello Pedro! I will take the "120 Dogs" (do you see the wire haired fox terrier in there??) and thank you. Pedro is a Mexican painter partly influenced by the Dadaist movement. The ruins and art of Mexico's ancient civilizations are rampant. I used to geek out on the Aztecs and Olmecs, so of course I freaked when I saw these.

Goodsh*t: Prepper Proper

Gathering my thoughts and images for Fall 2012/13, to avoid all dress wearing I tend to lean towards menswear anyway, so this works out for me and my profession. The prep/workwear has long been around and will continue on, but I love the mix of bow ties, Oliver Peeples and lettermen jackets. And plaid and leather and vintage barber tools. And most likely empty whiskey bottles and Gauloises. Honestly, I just needed an excuse to post photos of Yuri Pleskun. He's trainspotting waiting to happen. Drug addled Adonis! Plus he's GREAT in front of the camera.

Goodsh*t: Hairspiration!

I am getting my ears lowered, FINALLY. I have not had a proper haircut in about 2 years. OOPS! HIPPIE! I like the Jil Sander.

OH NOES!

CuckingFrazy
Ever have that feeling that your body is stagnant but functioning, but your insides are adrenalin-junked out? It's like my veins are cracked out on espresso while my brain takes a a damn walk on the beach! GAH!

Goodsh*t: Dork Rock

Dork Rock
Ahhh, the Old 97s. The beer stained saviors of my beer drowned youth. Thank you Rhett Miller for moving to NYC so we can enjoy your floppy hair on the regular. Tonight!

Goodsh*t: Collaborations

I was asked to do a little research on outside brands and what's a popular trend for more business within their businesses, alas! The collaboration! I love collaborations, high-end + fast fashion and re-issues of old classics. These are just a few of some great power couples in the men's market right now. Levis/Pendleton, and more with Opening Ceremony 1985 re-issues for Puma, Thom Browne/Moncler and the debut of a new and improved Russell activewear on the European tip. Menswear is even more noticeable these days and I am loving all the boundaries being pushed, especially with color.

I would just DIE for an opportunity to work as a duo, my company is over 100 years old! Come on!

Goodsh*t: Sentimentalities

Obviously I have been having epiphanies as of late (hence all the sentimental goo I have blasted all over the place) but I read this the other day and it got me all I dunno, thoughtful? I know I can be an unbearable-know-it-all-over-confident-sack-of-sh*t sometimes and I say and do the dumbest things all the time too and that's due to some slight insecurities. ALRIGHT! I admit it, I don't know everything! But I truly hope people remember the good and I hope I am a good friend.
